Northwest Housing Infill Project - Timelapse Videos

UCLA Housing is undergoing a massive construction project that encompasses adding five new buildings to the undergraduate housing area, known locally as "the Hill".

Conveniently, they mounted five webcams at strategic locations to get a live view of the progress. The cameras can be reached as follows:

Since May 8, 2010, I have captured video at the rate of 1 frame every 5 minutes from each camera that was in operation. Starting January 31, 2011, I upped the capture rate to 1 frame every minute. The dataset currently occupies 196 GB of disk space as of August 2011.

It takes about an hour to make each video, most of which is manually editing out periods of inactivity in the set of images. I will post videos to my YouTube channel and link them here as I complete their creation and processing. I may experiment with different quality settings, so these videos may change in the future.
